The Cincinnati Music & Wellness Coalition (CMWC) annually presents 2-3 major events:

  1. The Music & Medicine Conference
  2. Clavinova Connection fundraiser
  3. The Gift of Connection: Road to Self Sufficiency

Music & Medicine Conference

The annual music & medicine conference is presented to educate physicians, healthcare professionals, socials workers, nurses, counselors, music therapists, music educators, charitable foundations, long term care professionals, activity directors, human resource professionals, non-profit organizations, caregivers, and care-receivers of the healing power of music. Conference presenters include: local/national/international experts in medicine and music.

Hospitals, long-term care service support organizations, universities, and non-profit and corporate entities help sponsor the event.

Continuing education units are available for many professions.

Clavinova Connection Fundraiser

This fundraiser is held with the support of: Bella Luna restaurant’s owners Harry and Gay Stephens, Michael Leadbetter, MD, Paul Alexander from Cincinnati Bengals, and local celebrity chefs and musicians, and the support of Yamaha Music & Wellness Institute. All proceeds from the fundraiser are used to purchase Clavinovas to introduce Clavinova Connection to multiple populations. Past recipients include: Colerain Township Senior & Community Center, Anderson Senior Center, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and Otterbein Senior Choices.

The Gift of Connection: Road to Self-Sufficiency

Continuing on its path to make a difference in the lives of older and disabled refugees, GMW together with its partner organizations presents; Improved Well-Being through Art Forms at the Cincinnati Art Museum. The event features; native drumming by Burundi older adults, accompanied by UC College-Conservatory of Music Prep New Horizons String Orchestra, and Haitian, Hawaiian, and Bollywood dancing by Bhutanese children. GMW partner organizations are: Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Area Senior Services, Cincinnati Recreation Commission, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Great Oaks Career Campuses, St. Leo Church, TriHealth, and UC College Conservatory of Music Prep.
